Hi! I'm Leah...I'm a Singer/Songwriter from a farm near the shores of Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada.
I have an incredible family and a real soft spot for my Golden Retriever, Charlie. When I'm not writing music or hanging with Charlie, you would probably find me in the kitchen creating something tasty; I love cooking as much as I love songwriting! "Food is music that you eat" is my motto in life!
An artist has to risk pursuing her dreams so I have recently moved from Ontario and have been living in Nashville, Tennessee- Music City! I'm taking lessons and learning from some incredible people and spending my time songwriting and building a sense of community.
Before I left Ontario I recorded some tracks with Jamie K Aplin (Toronto) to give you all an idea of where my writing is going and what I've been up to now that I'm 20! I'm excited about these. (I'll let you hear them soon- watch for their release date to iTunes, Spotify, and a few other sites.)
My first EP (Mesmerized) was released when I was 16 with all instrumentals recorded in Nashville at Addiction Studio (David Kalmusky) with vocals/mixing in Ontario at Avenue A (Jamie K Aplin). Released to iTunes in 2013, the title track saw radio play across Canada in 2014/15 (AM to FM Promotions, Toronto). Since then, I have been reinventing myself, and honing my performance skills. I had the incredible experience in 2016 of having my own band in Ontario, playing a bunch of cover gigs with the incredible likes of Dave Farrar (percussion), Steve Kenny (base guitar, owner of Steve Kenny Music Management) and Bill McMillan (lead guitar). These guys taught me a lot about stage performance and working as a team. I've played at Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival as a Youth Discovery Artist (2014), opened for Beverley Mahood, Jamie Warren, Diane Chase, Marshall Dane, and Shane Yellowbird (Orillia Opera House- Canadian Country Christmas, 2013), Summer 2016 gigs at The Queens Bar (Port Elgin, Ontario) and a host of coffee shops.
